I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 20 years’ professional experience in clinical psychology working in the NHS and private practice in London.
I have been involved in preparing medico-legal reports for courts since 2000.
I specialise in medico-legal assessments of clients suffering from personal injuries resulting from traumatic events, including road traffic accidents, work and industrial accidents, animal attacks, physical and sexual assaults, robberies and medical negligence.
As an expert witness I have prepared reports for clients suffering from a variety of emotional and behavioural problems, including anxiety disorders such as: post-traumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder, phobias, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder; but also depression, adjustment disorders and chronic pain. In addition, I have assisted in criminal cases, IQ assessments for fitness to plea and assessments within the Mental Capacity Act.
For assessment of chronic pain and somatoform disorders, I have gained expertise over 15 years initially through working at the INPUT Pain Management Clinic at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, and later through attending various seminars and workshops and assessing and working with clients in my private practice.
I have acted on behalf of claimants and defendants, and as a single joint expert:
Since 2000 I have attended various training courses, workshops and conferences in relation to all aspects of medico-legal practice. In particular I completed training in Report Writing; Meetings of Experts; Fees, Charges and Terms of Engagements and Courtroom Skills provided by the Society of Expert Witnesses.
